Senegal, triumphant in the fiercely contested CAN 2025 final against Morocco on January 18 (1-0 after extra time), has now been declared to have forfeited by the CAF appeals jury on Tuesday, March 17. This decision officially strips the Lions of Teranga of their championship title. However, the Senegalese team, retaining the crucial option to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), is widely expected to pursue further legal avenues and has certainly not exhausted all its options.
