Kiat Lim, the club president, is currently in Valencia with the primary objective of finalizing the contract renewal for coach Carlos Corberán. The agreement is set to extend Corberán’s tenure until at least the 2027/28 season, coinciding with the projected opening of the new Mestalla stadium.
Upon his arrival, Lim began a tour of the sports facilities, where he was joined by Ron Gourlay, the CEO of football and a vocal advocate for Corberán’s continued leadership.
While there has been evident fan dissatisfaction and a perceived ‘weariness’ with Corberán among some supporters, prompting measures like altering the stadium announcer’s protocol, the club’s management expresses unwavering confidence in his strategic vision and team-building capabilities.
During his visit, Lim is also scheduled to meet with the squad, inspect the ongoing construction of the Nuevo Mestalla – which is reportedly accelerating – and preside over a mid-season Board of Directors meeting to assess the club’s financial standing.
