Luis García Plaza has been officially presented as the new head coach of Sevilla FC, taking the reins after his initial training session. He steps in for Matías Almeyda for the remaining nine LaLiga fixtures. Despite the current challenges, García Plaza expressed immense enthusiasm and motivation. His primary goal is for the team to project energy and foster a strong connection with the supporters, a quality he noted was always present when visiting Sevilla as an opposing coach.

Therefore, the immediate objective is to "close the goal" and transform into a difficult team to beat, emphasizing that this does not necessarily imply a more defensive approach. As he put it, "We are the team that has conceded the most goals in the category. We have to close the goal as much as we can, and that doesn't mean being more defensive or less defensive, but being a difficult team for the opponent."
