This initiative represents a test conducted by the League, with the possibility of being repeated before the conclusion of the current season. Should this experimental phase prove successful, the practice of mic’ing up referees for live VAR explanations could be widely implemented across Ligue 1 starting from the next season, aiming to boost transparency and understanding of match decisions.
