Mauricio Pochettino Rules Out Immediate Spurs Return, Backs Club to Avoid Relegation

Mauricio Pochettino has once again stated that he is not in contention to return as manager of Tottenham Hotspur, despite widespread speculation. The former Spurs boss, however, expressed confidence that his old club would steer clear of relegation, even amid a difficult campaign.

Pochettino, who famously guided Tottenham to significant successes between 2014 and 2019, including a Champions League final appearance, has frequently been linked with a second stint at the North London club. However, his current role as head coach for the US men’s national team prevents any immediate return, especially given Tottenham’s recent struggles.

His contract with US Soccer is set to expire in August, following this summer’s World Cup, making him unavailable for any new managerial position until then. Pochettino also clarified that there has been no direct contact from either Tottenham or Real Madrid regarding any potential future roles, underscoring his full commitment to his current position until his contract concludes.
