Christian Panucci commented on Inter’s season following their Coppa Italia victory. The Nerazzurri secured the trophy with a 2-0 win against Lazio in yesterday’s final at the Stadio Olimpico.
“They play for Inter, they are strong players, it’s normal to win,” Panucci stated, implying that the team’s success is not necessarily a sign of overcoming a crisis. He believes that Inter is being overly coddled in the media, suggesting they were not in a critical or desperate situation. “They weren’t in intensive care,” he remarked, downplaying the narrative of a team struggling for survival.
Panucci also expressed disappointment with Inter’s performance in European competitions. “In Europe, they haven’t done well,” he asserted. This suggests that despite their domestic achievements, their continental campaign fell short of expectations.
The former defender’s comments highlight a perceived disconnect between Inter’s media portrayal and their actual performance level, particularly in the context of their European endeavors.
