La Liga

Real Betis has officially announced its first preseason friendly match: an anticipated clash against English giants Arsenal. This high-profile encounter is scheduled for August 5th at 7:30 PM (19:30) at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

This fixture marks a historic occasion for Real Betis, as it will be their first time facing the decorated London club, currently leading the Premier League and competing in the Champions League quarter-finals. It also signifies Betis’s debut playing in the Irish capital. While Betis has not yet revealed its full preseason training camp schedule, they often include matches against top English teams as part of their preparation.

Ramón Alarcón, CEO of Real Betis, emphasized the significance of this encounter for the Andalusian club. “Even though these are preparation matches, we are very excited about these types of fixtures due to the calibre of the opponent,” Alarcón stated. “We will be facing another giant of world football like Arsenal, in a great city like Dublin and an excellent stadium like the Aviva Stadium. It will be a high-level test to see where we stand and a magnificent opportunity for Betis fans in the area to witness the team’s initial progress for the new season.”

Richard Garlick, CEO of Arsenal, also highlighted the importance of returning to the Republic of Ireland for an “exciting and demanding” match after several seasons. “We are excited to be returning to Dublin in August,” Garlick said. “We have incredible support in the Republic of Ireland and look forward to enjoying a competitive match at the Aviva Stadium. Real Betis will be a challenging opponent as we prepare for the new season. It promises to be a very exciting game. We look forward to meeting our supporters in Dublin once again.”
