In a press conference held before their anticipated clash with Italy, Ireland coach Michael O'Neill shared his insights into his team's mindset and strategy for the upcoming match.

"I have strong belief in this group of players," O'Neill stated. "It will be a very young team, and when you're young, there's a certain absence of fear. For us, there is truly everything to gain, without a shadow of a doubt."

He further elaborated on the squad's development: "They've already played in important matches and handled them exceptionally well. They have grown considerably over the past two years, and this encounter will serve as a crucial benchmark for us."

Acknowledging the stature of their opponents, O'Neill added, "There will be a fantastic atmosphere. Italy has to manage its own rich history and prestige, and we hold a great deal of respect for that. Our objective is to make the game as difficult as possible for them, aiming to turn it into a significant mental challenge."
