Toronto, one of the designated host cities for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, has officially voiced its strong opposition, through its mayor, to the potential presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during the major international event. The city’s leader firmly believes that the involvement of ICE would “sow fear and disorder, and not security,” within the diverse community of Toronto, rather than contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
