Walter Samuel may depart the Argentine national team staff, with a past offer from Inter Milan playing a role. Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni disclosed that the former Inter defender had received an offer to join Cristian Chivu's staff at the club.

However, Samuel opted to remain with Scaloni, accompanying the national team until the World Cup. Scaloni highlighted Samuel's character, stating, "He stayed with us until the World Cup, and that speaks volumes about the great person he is."

Samuel's future is now uncertain. Scaloni has no updates on his decision, emphasizing that the national team's door remains open should Samuel choose to leave.

"Besides being incredibly important to the team, he is my friend. I want the best for him. If he wants to make a decision, it's right that he can do so," Scaloni added.

Inter's interest in Samuel is renewed. While they made an initial approach, he prioritized the national team. A different scenario might now unfold.
